The 80cm Infrared Proximity Sensor is a general-purpose distance measuring device that provides continuous distance readings with a corresponding analog voltage output. It can measure ranges from 10 cm (4") to 80 cm (30") and is commonly used in devices such as TVs, personal computers, and cars.
This compact sensor uses a Japan Solderless Terminal (JST) connector with three wires: GND, VCC, and output. Since it operates continuously and does not require clocking signals to initiate readings, it is easy to interface with most microcontrollers. For Seeeduino boards, the included wire adapts the 3-wire connector to a 4-wire format for compatibility with the Grove twig interface.
